After 22 years of selling Residential Real Estate for Weichert Realtors and Burgdorff Realtors, Bigos and her business partner of 11+ years, Daniel Cannizzo, put their expertise into designing a new brand and launched an independent Real Estate Boutique called Towne Realty Group, LLC in February 2006.  Located at 511 Millburn Avenue, Short Hills, Bigos & Cannizzo renovated 4,000 sq. feet of luxurious office space where their team of 25 agents cover the areas of Essex, Morris and Union Counties.  Most of the agents and Brokers on their top team worked at other local companies and have an average of 10+ years of experience.  In 2014, they passed their first $1 Billion in sales. The office is just two blocks away from where they attended Millburn High School, and steps from the two large corporations where Bigos worked for more than a decade each. 

Following in the footsteps of her mother, local Realtor Sandi Eastman, she focused her entire career in the community where she was raised. She works to give back to her hometown and held a seat on the Board of Directors of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce for 20 years, raising funds for the 4th of July Committee for 20 years and having served on the Board of Trustees for the Millburn-Short Hills Historical Society. As the coordinator for her Millburn High School 10 year, 20 year & 30 year reunions, she found all but 20 of her 350 classmates with tireless searches on over 8 websites and endless networking, phone calling and bulletins on local TV and newspapers. As active member of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate, Karen often attends Spring and Fall conferences around the world, where networks with hundreds of Brokers. She accepted awards on behalf of Towne Realty for OUTSTANDING SOCIAL MEDIA SAVVY and BEST BRAND INTEGRATION, as well as a SIGNIFICANT SALES AWARD that went to one of her agents for the highest sale in Short Hills, NJ, for 2014.  No stranger to hard work, Bigos has been recognized by the New Jersey Association of Realtors for earning the Circle of Excellence Award for twenty years and she was twice named the Number One Agent at her former company, consistently placing in the top ten for the entire corporation year after year.  If plaques and awards told the whole story, Bigos could write a book as one of the top Realtors in Short Hills for decades.
